cozy restaurant, good wood-fired pizza
personally, i liked the shared-table environment (most of the restaurant is made up of the larger tables that seat 6 people all together) — it was fun and different… kind of felt like one big family :)
i even heard (unconfirmed of course!) that this is tom douglas’ favorite of his restaurants too.
Dishes I tried:
Cherry bomb peppers, sweet fennel sausage
i really liked this pizza! the “sweet fennel sausage” was just… so tasty! i wasn’t so sure about the sweet fennel part, but it wasn’t that strong of a taste at all.
and like all of the pies, the wood-fired crust was done just-right. definitely not a pizza where you’d set aside the crust :)

If Tom Douglas created a pizza..
.. yes, this would be it. Dahlia Bakery crust is the highlight. Medium thickness, to this bread rookie, it tastes like sourdough with the texture of foccacia. One of the best pizza crusts I’ve tried; go at least once just for that and the toppings.
In tasting parts of 3 pizzas during 2 visits, one was just a hair overdone.
I’d consider giving it 4 stars save for the ambience. During primetime, expect to wait for the chance to share an ear-to-ear packed table. My $15 personal pizza wants options other than festival seating, so I don’t think Zeek’s needs to worry yet.
Dishes I tried:
Penn cove clams, spicy pancetta, lemon thyme
Loved the first half, liked the rest. Recommend for splitting rather than solo. Very salty, not a ton of clams or pancetta.

awesome potato pizza
A good place for unique and tasty pizza. I like the yukon potato pizza the best. The crust is thin and crunchy, and has just the right combination of cheese, olive oil, and spices. Its a little expensive for frequent dining, but when I really want a good pizza for lunch, I go here.
Dishes I tried:
yukon gold potato
no meat, just potatoes and cheese and garlic

Serious, great and tasty
Great pizzas here but the location feels a bit cramped. It’s sort of like an upscale pizza parlor. It has those raised tables where you sit on bar stools and it’s a bit intimate since you might share the table with other diners.
It’s definitely worth a try if you’re a pizza-lover. There are some unique topping combinations.
