This steak was topped with daikon and another garnish I was not able to name (it was spicy and orange). The steak came with ponzu dipping sauce and was served on a sizzling platter. It was decent steak, but I think next time I’ll stick with a sushi.

Reliable place for solid Japanese bento lunches

As noted in previous reviews this place offers various bento box lunches as well as sushi and curry dishes. Lunch specials are good if not spectacular. Will have to return for dinner/sushi.

Decor/Ambiance: Typical Japanese decor. Plenty of tables. Good for larger groups.

Service: Excellent and attentive.

Unspectacular but good, not too oily or dry.

Good food, lots of tables, a bit tucked away

This restaurant is not located on those typical main roads. But, you should drop by here if you can, especially if you want to try some very good toro.

What I’m used to eating is a pretty expensive toro nigiri that’s normal in size. What I didn’t expect was a toro that was on the pricy side, but was HUGE. Well, maybe not huge as you would say to a 20 oz. steak, but huge for a toro. It didn’t seem like it until I put it in my mouth. It literally filled my mouth with a mouth-watering toro that just melted away. So yah, just for this toro experience, I would go check it out.

Few other dishes were pretty good, but some were normal.

The service provided was very nice, and the gentleman who we think is the owner is very funny and nice too. He tends to stretch the word at the very end of sentences.

The price may change, but it was $14 when I had it. It was unbelieveably good!

I’m sure that you’ve heard of a regular croquette, but I really love the cream one better. Instead of a potato, it’s filled in with some sort of creamy thing. Very good.

I’d have to say that this dish was mediocre at the best. It wasn’t gross, but it was a regular ole tonkatsu dish.

My favorite sushi in the Bay!

I’m a sushi snob, and Seto is my favorite place in the Bay Area (so far). I’ve never had anything but sushi here because the sushi is so darn amazing. I’ve never had anything bad here, and I’ve rarely had anything better. Their fish is always amazingly fresh, and they give huge cuts of fish. The hamachi is amazing. The uni is usually great. If you ask the sushi chef what’s fresh that day, he’ll definitely tell you what he recommends. The toro is great, the negitoro is great, the scallops are great (I don’t know if he does this all the time, but I always get a full scallop per nigiri piece, whereas most sushi places will cut the scallop in half and give you half a scallop per nigiri piece)… really, you can’t go wrong with any of the sushi here. I rarely order the rolls here though… despite how great the “Spicy Lobster Roll” sounds, I don’t think the rolls are anything special.

The service is also always very nice and friendly. There was even one time we were very very late making our reservation, and despite it being a busy Friday lunchtime, they held our spots at the sushi bar until we got there. I was in shock!

Good lunch specials

I usually come here for lunch during the week, and everyday they have a ‘special-of-the-day’ that includes around 4 dishes. This is a little more expensive than their bento combos, but it’s a good deal. You will get full!

The kinds of dishes in the special I don’t usually see at other Japanese restaurants. So don’t expect to see chicken teriyaki as part of the special. I think Fridays they like to serve unagi as one of the plates.

The sushi at this place is also very good, with friendly sushi chefs.
