Last night I treated myself (Mother’s Day), and my son to dinner at this almost forgotten gem of a restaurant…I say this, though it is the kind of restaurant that has a “following”, and I am sure that many of the Park City residents eat there, as it would be like their “neighborhood restaurant”…(this is evident, because on the wooden beams by the tables, there are tiny gold labels with names of loyal and frequent customers)

I had been to this restaurant a few times when in opened in the late 90’s…
It was a lovely restaurant, with good food, but to be honest, for the price, it just didn’t “wow” me…

SO many new restaurants have opened since, that I really had forgotten all about this one.
I joined a group of friends for dinner at this restaurant a few months ago, and enjoyed it, and decided to return last night…

For Starters…
We both chose their infamous Caesar Salad..I ordered the verson that comes with anchovies and extra parmesan cheese…They actually SELL their Caesar dressing…This is simply one of the most delicious renditions that I have ever had, and that is saying a lot, considering the many wonderful places that I have had a Caesar salad…My son loved his as well…

For Mains..
I had the Barbequed Glazed Salmon, which was served over Buttermilk Chive Potatoes with tabasco butter and crispy leeks…
My son chose one of the “specials” which was a 10 ounce Prime Rib with garlic whipped potatoes, grilled veggies, and horseradish sauce.
When I had my first bite of that salmon dish, I found myself in “foodie heaven”…Words cannot describe just how very delicious this salmon is, with its slightly sweet and tangy BBQ glaze, topping the mound of whipped potatoes and finished with flourless and crispy fried thin shavings of leek…Incredible dish….As I told my son at the time, “This could be my new favorite!”…He agreed, needing at least 3 or 4 bites to confirm it!
His Prime Rib was juicy and perfectly cooked to a Medium Rare, as ordered…The grilled veggies were particularly savory…

For Dessert…
We chose the “Three Citrus Pie”, kin to the Key Lime Pie…No disappointment here…It was surrounded by a berry coulis…Beautifully presented with wonderful taste..

I must tell you about my Whiskey Sour…Best one I’ve had in ages…(Have to admit that I loved the swirly Martini glass that it came in, as well…)
They have a bartender that really knows their drinks….
This is not always easy to find in a restaurant setting..

Service was very gracious and attentive, though not “hovering”…in other words, just right…

Price? Well, I think that it is reasonable when compared to other restaurants of this caliber…
Dinner for two with 2 cocktails (both for me, hey…it’s Mother’s Day!!!), including two generous salads, entrees, and desserts, not including tip was a little over $100…
You really cannot beat that in this city, for a great dinner and drinks in a classy space with caring service…

I will visit Sevy’s again soon…maybe for lunch…
That “Ultimate Wedge Salad” with blue cheese buttermilk dressing, bacon, and BEEF TENDERLOIN is calling my name….
