located in chinatown, shui wah is your run-of-the-mill chinese mom ‘n pop joint. it’s nothing fancy inside (more or less similar to other neighboring places) and offers decent food at reasonable prices.

i came here b/c the usual dinner spots we eat at were all packed and we didn’t feel like waiting around. shui wah slowly filled up, and by the time we left, was packed also.

i wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but it’ll always be back up if my other usual fav places are too busy.

Trying to make the rounds around Chinatown, we decided to try a different restaurant. We chose one that was less crowded than the others but still had a bunch of newspaper clippings on the front (it’s amazing how any restaurant can make itself look really good).

It felt like any other chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Some the dishes might have been slightly cheaper, but the food was pretty standard fare. If the other restaurants are crowded, it’s a workable alternative but not my first choice.
