I view “restaurant week” as an opportunity for mere mortals like myself to enjoy the area’s “finer” restaurants, without taking out a second mortgage.

It was my first visit to Soyka so I was unsure what to expect. The restaurant is rustic and airy with the kitchen and service stations within view. I nibbled on fresh and tasty bread while I waited for my starter. The entree was brought out my another server, while I was still eating my appetizer. My server was unavailble so I had someone else place my dessert menu. A third server prepared my dessert doogie bag since my server was MIA. When my orignal server finally appeared with my check appeared disinerested and talked to some guys at the bar while I waitied for change. On the way out I explained to the manager the tip was reflective of the poor service I received.

My meal was as disappointing as my service. Soyka could have used the Miami Spice menu to win new customers. Instead they created a generically pretensious and uninspiring menu. My lacklaster experience has allowed me to cross this resturant off of my list.
