I recently went to Spice Route with a group of 3 friends for dinner. The venue is beautiful; gorgeous decor and great atmosphere. The food was the best Indo-Chinese I have had in Toronto. I highly recommend the veggie spring rolls, as well as the fried rice and sweet and sour pork. Our waiter was really helpful when we asked for suggestions, and our food came to the table pretty quickly. We were originally planning to stay just for dinner, but decided to move to the bar area for drinks afterwards. Overall we had a great night, and I can’t wait to get back to try the patio when the weather improves. I would recommend a reservation though, as the place is so good that everyone wants to get in.

 

I had made reservations for 4 people to dine last Saturday evening. When we arrived, we were told that our table was being set up and that we would be seated shorlty. An HOUR AND A HALF later and several conversations with uniformed staff and we finally gave up and left. Several other parties were waiting patiently to be served and were given the same line – your table will be up next……The place is gorgeous – too bad the service spoils the atmosphere.

 

If you like over paying for food you can get at Manchu Wok, then you will really like eating at Spice Route. The decor is gorgeous but this is really a bar serving food court quality food.

Oh… it’s interesting that ‘efoodie’ has written the same raving review for Spice Route (with no review of any other restaurant) on pretty much every Toronto restaurant review site.
