I was really disappointed after visiting this place. I was looking for a good cup of coffee and a place to sit with a good book and maybe a sandwich. I found good coffee, a decent bagel, LOUD little kids and their moms and lousy service.
I ordered a large coffee, and was pleasantly surprised to find out they roast their own. The place was a little smokey and smelly, but it was bearable. Freshly roasted coffee is worth the stink. The coffee was good, fresh, and hot. Then I ordered a sandwich and was told they weren’t serving sandwiches, only breakfast foods. Since it was 10:57 and they start serving sandwiches at 11, I thought that was kind of picky, but I ordered a bagel and tried to find a place to sit. I finally managed to get away from the strollers and kids, which was no easy feat, and my bagel was delivered with a sneer after 15 minutes or so.
I really like the architecture of this place and the coffee, so I think I might go back later in the day instead of trying to find some quiet and politeness early in the morning.
