5.0The owner himself served us. He was welcoming and friendly. Told us a little about the history of his restaurants and answered all of our questions. The food was served quickly and tasted great. I appreciated that all tables offered low-sodium soy sauce as well as regular soy sauce.
Meal included entree, salad, steamed rice, miso soup, and california rolls for $11.95. Great deal! The hot food was served hot and was filled with flavor. The lemon chicken had a little sauce on the lightly breaded pieces of chicken and had plenty of sauce in the compartment, so I was able to put on as much sauce as I saw fit. The chicken itself had flavor and the sauce was a nice balance of tangy lemon with a mild hit of sweet. (Too much sauce or sauce that is too sweet are major pet peeves of mine.) Miso soup was not too salty (as I often find it to be) and had bits of tofu and seaweed. This is just how I like it!
The spicy tuna handroll was served promply and the seaweed was still crisp (you can tell if they wait to bring it because the seaweed gets soggy). The generous amount of tuna tasted fresh and there was just a little spice to it. I could have tolerated more.
