This small Japanese restaurant is hidden along University. It has just a few tables, and a small sushi bar.
The menu is fairly standard fare, with some specialties. We decided on some sushi, chicken karaage, and agedashi tofu.
The sushi rolls were fairly small, but the spicy sauce was good. The tofu was firm, but cold and barely fried! It was quite disappointing. I was happy with the chicken karaage. It came hot and not too oily.
All in all, it’s an okay restaurant. Nothing too impressive, but it’s a cozy place for a quick meal.
Yummy and hot bite-size pieces of fried chicken.
Good spicy sauce, but small rolls.
Same spicy sauce as the scalllop roll. But again, small rolls.
Tofu itself was nice and firm, but it wasn’t hot inside!

This tiny little restaurant along University is about the size of a large hallway. And to match its tiny little size, the serve tiny little portions. Ok they weren’t that small, but it’s definitely less than what I’m accustomed to. Prices aren’t bad though, so I was still able to get full for under $20.
Service is good and food quality was nothing to complain about. It’s a good place to go for a decent meal while avoiding the crowds at the more well-known restaurants along University.
Flavor and texture of the tofu was good, but the exterior wasn’t fried enough and it was served only warm. It tastes better when hot!
These were very juicy and tasty. They need larger portions though.

Very small japanese food on university ave. The service there was friendly, and it might be worth a look if you aren’t into the big noisy atmosphere of Miyake’s just a few blocks away.
BBQ eel with dry seaweed on top, with a base of rice underneath. Very tasty and fresh eel. A bit on the expensive side, but well worth it if you like eel.
The tofu was not fried long enough.
