When my friend suggested getting sushi for lunch, I was shocked (seriously shocked!) to discover that there was a viable sushi option in our suburban neck of SD :)

I thought the sushi was good – fresh and they have some really creative rolls (not that I tried those, I tend to stick with basic sushi on a first-time visit) – AND with the 50% discount on sushi rolls at lunch time, it was a great deal too! (even the “special rolls” were around $10 with the discount.)

I’ve heard it gets crowded in the evenings (and the service may become slow then too), but lunch was a real pleasant experience. I live just a mile or two away, so I’ll definitely be back, but yeah, if you aren’t in this area already, I wouldn’t trek up here JUST to eat the sushi!

Great little place in Rancho Penasquitos- its high time they have a place to get sushi in this neighborhood. Only tried it once, love the modern atmosphere, seems to be Korean owned (they have bulgulgi and kalbi on the menu), the rolls were good:
-Crunchy roll- tempura california roll, very good
-Snowball roll – fried with crab inside, spicy mayo outside, very good
-Ocean roll – very spicy in a fishy sauce, OK
Would recommend it if you live in the area, wouldn’t say its of the best in San Diego. Comparable to Yummi Sushi
