Breakfast Disappointment

9/15/09
Had breakfast at Sweet Lorraine’s on a Sunday a few weeks ago with my wife and three grandchildren
Had a horrible experience.
For starters, we waited an inordinate amount of time to be served, even though the restaurant was not full
The waiter finally came to our table and I wanted to order crepes. He suggested that I do not order them as they are not very good.
So I ordered a pecan waffle, which was served cold arriving late as the waiter told me that the kitchen had only one waffle iron! Unfortunately, my wife ordered a Belgium waffle which was in a word terrible. Grandson #1 ordered an omelet that was served very well over cooked. Grandson #2 ordered french toast which turned out to be the best item served. Grandaughter ordered pancakes that looked so dark that I thought it was a new approach to Cajun pancakes.
Overall, I found the meal unsatisfactory, overpriced and very slow and poor service.
Will not return again, quite frankly, Zoto’s Diner in Hilltown has far superior waffles and breakfast items at a more reasonable price.
Joe

Disappointing Breakfast

We had breakfast with our family and were disappointed with the experience and service.

The pancakes were cold, well done, close to dollar size and far from fluffy. The potatoes were greasy and I only had three bites worth on my plate which was probably not a bad thing.

This place went downhill from the last time we came and I do not think we will be back.

Great food, Good Service, Nice Place

A very large deck with lots of tables, but the tables are perfectly spaced so nobody feels too crowded! The food was very good, from start to finish. I was impressed the place was relatively busy for a Monday evening at 6:30!

All of our food was cooked perfectly and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and the food is freshly prepared. This is a great place to stop if you are in the Peddler’s Village area, the atmosphere was very nice (a little retro 50s which was neat) and the food was great. They have a wide variety of drinks; mixed, wines and beer. Nice place, nice charm and I will certainly return!

If you are going to the Bucks County location, which you are if you are reading this, go to the website for Sweet Lorraine’s and select, location, Bucks County…this will show you the menu at Peddler’s Village location. Some of the items are different then the other location!

Dishes I tried:

Roasted Red Bell Peper-Garlic Hummus

Perfect blend of the two flavors, not too much garlic-not too much red bell pepper. A nice garlic taste with the zing and sweetness of the red bell pepper. Whole wheat pita slices, grilled warm!

Pecan Chicken

Amish (so nothing added to it) chicken breast, perfectly cooked and coated with the pecans and honey dijon mustard sauce. The sauce had a little kick which I did not expect. It was put on with a “heavy” hand which caused some of the pecan flavor to be lost. But, that’s the only complaint I have about it! Great dish.

Vegetarian Mushroom Stroganoff
