fish overload

If you love copious amounts of sushi, then this is the place to go. It’s much better than any other all you can eat sushi places because you get to order almost anything off the menu and they make it fresh. It’s a fantastic concept and even better experience.

The problem is that they use the paper ordering method. This is where you get a paper with little boxes next to every item in the menu and you decided in the beginning what you want to eat. So you start checking away and probably pick almost everything on the menu because your eyes are bigger then your stomach.

Soon, the food starts rolling in. You have a good time, you eat, you eat, you eat. Then you realize that you’ve only had about 1/2 the things on your checklist…uh oh. Time to kick it up a notch. So you start cramming in more and more food hoping to compress it in your stomach…but alas, you can’t win.

Luckily, you can just tell them to not make anything that isn’t made yet and take it off your list :) This is the saner approach. Otherwise you’ll be like us and feel really really sick afterwards. But it was great nonetheless!

1 more note: the place is really small so try to go on off peak days/times or expect to wait a bit. You have to sit at the sushi bar for the all you can eat.

More sushi and food than you can shake a stick at (and by shake a stick I mean eat) and it’s all good quality

An old San Diego favorite!! All-you-can-stuff-in-your-face sushi for only $25! The quality is pretty darn good for the price and there’s a wide enough variety of to keep you happy.

sushi out of my ears

tadashi offers an all-you-can-eat sushi option for $25 bucks, and if you’ve got the appetite (and stamina), it’s worth the deal. you check off items from a paper list that includes nigiri, specialty rolls (i.e. caterpillar, rainbow), and hand rolls… suprisingly a good range of sushi. the only caveat is you have to sit at the sushi bar. it’s a small place run by koreans so try to come during non-peak hours and don’t expect too stellar service.

i love salmon sushi, and i had to order 2 of these because it’s just so yummy. i’m not too particular and the sushi slices are large so…quite delicious.

none of that white cabbage junk here. all solid dark greens topped w/shredded carrots and sitting in a bath of a balsamic-vinaigrette (i think).

a medium-sized bowl of deep-fried tofu squares covered w/a thin crispy outside and topped with a light, fluffy, tissue-paper-like material. quite tasty, and you get a good number of them to share w/your friend.

eel is so sweet and tasty, how could you go wrong w/ordering these 2 pieces? well, you can’t. give the eel a try.

i’m not a big fan of this sushi in general, but it tasted good like any other tamago roll. spongy, sweet, and floppy.

this is usually my most favorite roll to order at most sushi places b/c you get a variety of fish, it’s a decent size, and it looks so pretty. i was a little disappointed w/the rainbow roll here because it wasn’t quite as spectacular looking as i thought it’d be (no rainbow), and the fish was mediocre.

3.5 stars. this caterpillar roll is topped w/avocado and eel (yum!), but like the rainbow roll wasn’t as well made as i had hoped. but i suppose this is what i get for eating at an all-you-can-eat sushi bar.

a larger roll filled with soft shell crab. i was a bit sad to find not too much soft shell crab inside, but overall still a tasty roll.

too.. much... sushi.... =D

We had to eat at a place that was spectacular before a friend left for Boston, so we decided to go for some ridiculous all you can eat sushi. Tadashi, sitting on the very expensive restaurant street of Prospect in La Jolla, was the target. It has a very clean and nice decor. We were initially confused since they don’t advertise the all-you-can-eat sushi outside the restaurant or on the menu. Tricky!

The all you can eat works like this: your group gets 1 sheet of paper listing sushis and appetizers (nice touch), and you mark how many of each you want. Be warned: whatever you don’t finish, you get charged. We had four people though, so we got nice variety and ridiculous amount of sushi. Get handrolls! I suggest the Salmon Skin handroll. Otherwise, just order your favorite sushis, and then get sick of eating them.

Bottom line: you’ll probably eat your $25 worth of sushi. ($20 during lunch i think). If you’re willing to spend 25 bucks and like sushi, its definitely worth coming here.

Bad idea by me to order this one, since nobody helped me eat all 8 of these. The cream cheese stuff didn’t blend well with the sushi in my opinion

Great for a Date

Located in Downtown La Jolla, it’s easy to get lost and not find your way (which happened to me and my boyfriend). From the outside it looks very small but great things some in small packages!
