I’d had the chicken biryani to go from here before and really liked it, so this time I came back for a dine-in dinner. The dine-in experience left a lot to be desired, so next time I’ll probably just stick to take-out.

The interior of Tandoori Kitchen is pretty small, and somewhat garishly decorated, with wallpaper you’d find in a home from the 80’s. The tacky decor paled in comparison to the service, which was really, really slow. It seemed like we were sitting for 10 minutes before getting menus or water, and this was when the restaurant was 2/3rds full.

Luckily, Tandoori Kitchen’s saving grace was the taste of the food, which was great. The flavors of all the dishes we had were rich without being overpowering or too spicy. It’s too bad they don’t serve alcohol – a cold Kingfisher would have been perfect with the spicy food.

I’ve been searching for a good Biryani place every since I got to Seattle. The place offers the most authentic biryani in the Seattle Area. If you want lamb biryani, you have to go in on a Sunday. The lamb is very tender and the rice fragrant.

The place is a little hard to find. And the service is not awesome. But the biryani is well worth it.
