1.0My husband had heard great things about the hamburgers at this restaurant and decided we should give it a try this past Sunday afternoon.
His Brew Pub Burger was delicious; my Buffalo Chicken Salad (petite portion) was an ample salad with lots of vegetables and freshly microwaved chicken tenders doused in hot sauce. Ok, whatever, they’re known for their burgers and beer right?
My daughter ordered the Junior Hamburger. She loves hamburgers, so she was excited to see what was so special about this restaurant that her dad had driven us 10 miles out of our way to try. Her burger arrived; she poked at it and said it was “hard”. "Some burgers are like that, try it.” I said. She bit into it and started gagging and spit it out. “This tastes weird!” she cried. “Really?” I asked. I sniffed the burger, I looked at the burger, I bit into the burger and almost threw up. Now, I’ve never eaten crap, but I’m almost positive it would taste like the Junior Burger they served my daughter. We called the waiter over; he apologized, and said he would send the manager over. She came over, apologized, removed my daughter’s plate and asked if she would like to try something else. My daughter chose chicken tenders. The manager put the new order in and we waited. Twelve minutes later the chicken tenders arrived and the waiter said her lunch would be no charge because of the problem. Then he left and we never saw him again until we received our bill. Never checked on our drinks, never asked how the tenders were, nothing.
Meanwhile my husband excused himself to the restroom, where he discovered the floor was like an indoor slip-n-slide with 1/2" puddles of water in various corners.
The manager returned to our table and again apologized. I asked if I could take a quick look at the kitchen. She agreed and we went to take a look. As we stood in the doorway I let her know I was worried about the sanitary conditions of the restaurant due to the “Junior CRAP Burger” they had served my daughter, and the 1/2" puddle of water in the men’s room. She said, she would take care of the restroom and again sorry about the burger.
The bill came and indeed they had removed the charge for the Junior CRAP Burger.
Needless to say we will NEVER go there again, and we will be sure to tell everyone asking where the good restaurants in the western suburbs of Chicago are, to stay far, FAR, away from The Taylor Brewing Company.
These dishes from the Taylor Brewing CO menu are contributed by Menuism users directly, as part of a restaurant review, or as part of an image upload.

07/28/2008Wow, what a horrible experience. Hopefully, they clean up their act so that other patrons don’t have the same bad experience.
