A Worcester classic

For a place as busy as the Boynton, they consistently serve up some of the best American fare in Worcester. That’s if you can find a seat, but that isn’t part of this review :-) The Buffalo Chicken Pizza is amazing, with a white dill sauce and chunks of spicy buffalo chicken. The fried seafood dishes are all very fresh and huge, with the captain’s platter enough to feed two people, the calamari is light, crispy and delicious and the fish and chips are equally good. I had a rack of lamb as a special one night and it was just incredible (they did it medium-rare, which was nice). Very tender and well seasoned, but unfortunately not a regular menu item. All things said and done, if you can get a seat here, it’s worth the trip.

Very good!

The Boyton is one of Worcester’s better “all aournd general fare” resturants. Offering everything from pizza and subs to lobsters and steaks, The beer selection is fantastic.

The Boyton is popular with both local college students as well as older folks looking for a great meal. It’s a mixed group.

It is noisy, and parking can be a hassle (the valet trys his best, but the lot is only so big, and this college area of town is very tightly packed.) Still it’s worth the trip.
Locals know to go here when the colleges are out on vacation, as parking and seats at the bar seem to be more available.

The menu is large and offers something for everyone. It truely is a great all around resturant. I’ve eaten here for years, and can honestly say I have never had a bad meal. Never. The seafood is fresh, the steaks hearty. The pizza is also very good.

The Boynton rates high on my list

I’ve long been a patron of the Boynton, but the menu became pricier after it was remodeled, and so unfortunately I can’t splurge on eating there often. Still, the food is wonderful and it’s always an enjoyable and satisfying dining experience. I must say, though, if you’re wanting to share a quiet dinner with someone this is NOT the place to go, because, for some reason, the place is exceptionally noisy. Each time I go I order something different, and there’s never been a time when I’ve been disappointed. They have a wonderful grilled reuben sandwich. Another time I had the steamed mussels as an appetizer before my baked fish dinner. This is also a good choice for dining on a Sunday, because many Worcester restaurants are closed. And although the parking lot is often crowded, for some reason there’s always a space!
