fondue feast!
i don’t think i could’ve described it any better than mercurialvapor. i came here for a birthday celebration as well, and a server brought a card as well as with other servers coming by to say birthday wishes. it’s definitely a different and fun dining experience, great for larger parties and special occasions. the dishes aren’t over the top large serving sizes, but when you go for the ‘big night out’ it adds up and you’ll leave feeling stuffed. the food was surprisingly FRESH and very tasty, and our server was professional yet friendly. make sure to set aside a few hrs since it takes awhile to go through all the courses. had a fabulous time and would definitely consider returning.
reservations seem difficult to make sometimes.

Premier Fondue Indeed
This place is excellent for special occasions. I came here for my girlfriend’s birthday, and they had a card for her on the table, as well as some special dessert. And everyone kept wishing her a happy birthday. It’s like the servers can almost read your mind, that’s how perfect they time their comings and goings, and the atmosphere is fun or romantic, depends on the occasion and the table you get.
The food is delicious, and the format is easy to choose if you’re a first timer (try the pre-packaged big night out), and also great if you’d like to customize your meal a bit more.
The portions aren’t ginormous, but with appetizers (dippers with cheese), tasty salads, amazing entrees, and one of the best desserts I’ve had, the Big Night Out meal was fantastic. Obviously, it’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s definitely worth a shot if you’ve never had it and want to celebrate something special.
The best part is, it’s FUN. An interactive meal where you get to dip/ cook your food, but it still tastes really good no matter what you do. Two thumbs up! =P
Also, a caveat: make your reservations EARLY if you plan on eating here on the weekends (as in three weeks or more in advance), just to be safe.

Big Night Out
The appetizers came with aple slices, bread pieces, and veggies to dip in a delicious warm cheese fondue, followed by some great salads. The Mediterranean special was new and exciting, and even the Caesar salad was very tasty. The entree comes (depending on the price you select) with lobster tails, filet mignon steaks, fish, ravioli, chicken, and a number of other bite sized goodies. And the stuff that you cook it in is customaizable, as well. The dessert, with fresh, very sweet strawberries, bananas, rice krispy treats, adn marshmallows, was top class. And I am not a big fan of dessert, usually.

Delicious and Fun
I came here for Restaurant Week to have a nice meal out. Despite it’s huge number of tables, almost every table was packed. It makes sense to have a lot of tables when each meal takes 2-3 hours, so the restaurant can’t rely on high turnover rate. Since servers in Melting Pot have to see the same faces for so long, it is no surprise that friendliness and great service is in great abundance. Our server was funny, informative, and accommodating.
If you haven’t eaten here before, here is how it works:
Course 1: Salad or cheese fondue. If you pick cheese, you pick which cheese mix you want. We had their Big Night Out mix, which had a french theme. The fondue is supplemented with apples, bread, and veggies for dipping. The cheese had a subtle flavor (less powerful than something like cheddar) and a wine-tinged aftertaste. It is fun to watch the server make the fondue right in front of you as they explain what each ingredient is.
Course 2: You pick what soup/stew base you want to dip your main course in. There are 2 types of dipping stew: Normal and Premium. The premium stews cost a bit more, but are filled with more flavorful ingredients. We opted for Coq Au Vin, and our meats were the “Taste of France.” There was a selection of meats, including filet mignon, shrimp, duck, chicken, and peppercorn beef. There is a large array of sauces for dipping, and a couple veggies to cook. This is the slowest portion of the meal as you must wait for the food to cook. We couldn’t finish all the meat (got close!), especially since we wanted to save room for dessert.
Course 3: Chocolate Fondue. We got the Big Night Out special of Creme Brulee White Chocolate Fondue. They even light the fire in front of you. :) The dessert is absolutely amazing: chocolate covered marshmallows, graham cracker covered marshmallows, brownies, cheesecake, poundcake, strawberries, and bananas.
Overall, the meal was great. It is expensive, but it is worth it. Get some wine to pair with the meal (we had a wine flight of 3 french wines) and good company, and those 2-3 hours will be a blast.
