In the last 15 years since the internet has been around, seldomly have I found the motivation to right a review of a restaurant online. The few times I have, I didn’t actually go through with it. I can’t let this one slip by though. Yeah, that’s how bad this place is
We went on a Monday night, around 7:45pm. The place was empty. We were seated quickly…that’s the peak. It’s all downhill from here. First off, we were given the wrong menus. Well, some of us had the right menu, and some of us the wrong one…so they got that part like 50% right. So we ordered some drinks. One of our party members got a Manhattan…which pretty much consisted of room temperature bourbon with a cherry in it. Good try.
We skipped appetizers. We went ahead and ordered entrees…nothing real complicated. I think the hardest it got was a chicken sandwich.
IT TOOK OVER 35 MINUTES FOR US TO GET OUR FOOD! 4 EASY DISHES IN AN EMPTY RESTAURANT! Simple grilled chicken sandwich, some gumbo, some fettucini, and veggie sandwich.
We finally asked the waitress what the problem was, who responded “Oh, we need to cook the chicken. We don’t like to serve raw chicken to our customers.”
How considerate. “Hey Jim! That chicken done yet? It’s been on the grill for OVER A HALF AN HOUR!”
We did however get a glimpse into the kitchen, and noticed that all their chefs were stuffing their mouths! I wish I was kidding.
When we finally did get our food, the rice in the “seafood” gumbo WAS NOT COOKED! For the love of God could this get any worse? We didn’t let it. Check please! And folks, it wasn’t cheap.
For the love of all that is holy, spare yourself and your loved ones. Don’t eat here. If you’re going to open up a “taste of new orleans” restaurant in new orleans, you better be pretty damn good.
Just go to Zea’s or Copelands right across the street. Seriously.

09/20/2008TERRIBLE SERVICE!! For a tea, took almost 10 minutes. Forgetting a side of extra cream for a white russian with no apology even. For a refill of tea took just about 4-5 minutes when it’s not busy or anything. ONE refill of tea taking THAT LONG is UNREASONABLE! Basically, I feel the waitress was uncaring and too LAZY to make extra trips and apologies. Servers that are good will bring out any drinks that are in their control first, then the bar drinks later. Think about it logically. If it were HER in that customer’s seat, as if SHE’D want to wait a long time to have something to drink all because other people at the table want a mixed drink from the bar that takes longer to prepare? This service sucks just like if I were to go to Denny’s, seriously. Considering it’s so pricey here they should have MUCH better service. I blame the management for not TRAINING her properly and her lack of being a customer shows greatly. She wasn’t thinking as if that were HER. She wants the tip, but wants to do everything in one trip. Sorry, but CARING and GOOD SERVERS bring out the tea or soft drinks or water out BEFORE the mixed drinks are made. You can go back to the table to ask if they want an appetizer or maybe even know their entree order by then, so by delaying PURPOSELY from going back to the table to deliver all the drinks at once, you are pushing the customers to stay longer, which actually HURTS the server’s income by not getting as much customers since the service is delayed for each customer. I was very nice saying “Thank you” when she brought me things you would think she’d show her POLITENESS BACK by APOLOGIZING when she forgot something, but NO, some servers are just plain mean and not caring today. I don’t get that, I really don’t? As if she wants the server not to apologize for forgetting something, YET, she expects me to be nice to her, right? She got 8% of a discounted amount, which was only around $5 off. The white russian was well overpriced and Houston’s has a much better white russian for $8-$9 range, which this was $11 range for kettle one, which this was a smaller glass even. The pricing wasn’t the server’s fault, but she could have apologized for her forgetting the extra cream I asked for is my peeve with her. She couldn’t handle a party of 2 with ONLY ONE drink order to get right. How can she handle a party of 8 if she doesn’t write things down? I understand people make mistakes, but to take NO EFFORT to REMEMBER it by being too LAZY to write the order down is HER LAZINESS showing and being very UNCARING about her customers. Be nicer, the tip will be better. She could have gotten even 13-15 if she would have apologized. We have tipped 25-30 LOTS of times at restaurants before. This is PISS POOR SERVICE!! We tip that welll when the servers BUST ASS, which this waitress was VERY LAZY and UNCARING about her customers. NEVER GET STACI M. She needs a bit of COMMON SENSE. She seemed nice at first, but since it wasn’t busy, there’s NO REASON WHY my tea each time took SOOOO DAMN LONG. A TEA, takes literally not more than a minute or so. WHAT was the delay problem? I don’t get it? She didn’t act like she was the customer. When you serve, you should act like that’s YOU. When she’s thirsty, shouldn’t she think about how SHE feels and serve that way? Lack of common sense. I have NEVER once served as a waitress before, just counterhelp at a donut shop, but I have more sense than she does about serving customers. I also apologized when things weren’t my fault like raw food even that wasn’t obvious to my eyes and she had no decency or common sense to say she was sorry for forgetting my extra cream. It’s ONE DRINK and she couldn’t get that right, PATHETIC SERVICE! She needs to go work at Denny’s, because that’s where she belongs at the beginner’s level. She was mean not to apologize. You APOLOGIZE for your mistakes if you want a better tip, DUH, how stupid can you be?
