4.0I’d heard of the wonders of The Slip’s burgers for a long time, and I’m glad to say the place definitely lives up to the legend. The Slip is a pretty small and homely place with mismatched mugs and whatnot, but that adds to the appeal of the place.
Also adding to the appeal of The Slip is the awesome location with views of the Kirkland waterfront. They also have a nice outdoor dining area which I hear is dog-friendly and great during the summer. Thanks to all this, The Slip’s going on my list of regular burger spots.
Heavenly. There’s something about keeping the ingredients simple, and it shows in this burger. The patty and mushrooms were super juicy, which helped season the surrounding bun. I’m not a fan of the chips that come by default with the burger – it’d be nice to have some salsa to complement them.

4.0The Slip is always jam packed in the summer: it’s in a fantastic location right by the Kirkland waterfront, coffee is served in mugs with personality and the ambience is very Kirkland casual.
The burgers have got to be some of the Eastside’s best for a very reasonable price. For less than $10, I got a gigantic Neno’s chicken burger and a side or tortilla chips — but the burger was more than enough for lunch.
The Neno’s Chicken burger was a meal in and of itself. There was a large chicken breast, corn and black bean salsa, guacamole, lettuce — I had to eat this one with a knife and fork! The absence of tomato made this burger not overly moist but it still had tonnes of flavour from the other ingredients.

3.0The food is good for burgers, but they don’t tell you upfront that fries are not included. So, you get a surprise when you get the bill. I tried the musthroom and onion burger and the Slip’s special one (forgot the name, but it’s the most expensive on the menu), and both were good.

03/14/2007I agree — the tortilla chips seemed dry and cardboardy after their burgers. If you order a burger with guacamole though, you can scrape some of it up with your chips!
