The Stove is a restaurant my family pretty much always goes to while at Mammoth. They offer large portions of super tasty homestyle food. The Stove lures people in with a homey looking restaurant and a cool picture of a snowman and a stove in front.

The food is rich and delicious. It’s the type of food you enjoy at the cost of your health, but it is worth it. I ordered the Texan omelette, which is a four egg omelette with chili and cheese! The omelette was very tasty, especially since i covered it with some salsa, to add a kick to it. The chili was full of meat and was quite good. The dish also came with potatoes, which somewhat lacked in flavor. Ketchup was involved. I got a biscuit with it, which was actually a lil disappointing. It was rich and moist, but didn’t have the crisp I desired. I also tried some chocolate chip pancake and french toast. Damn, it is good stuff. The french fries are quite delish and the crab melt I tried was loaded with crabby goodness.

If you are in Mammoth, the Stove is the place to hit up for some quality food. It might not be the healthiest, but you won’t really care because the food is good times.

i’ve been to the stove a few times now during family ski trips to mammoth (for breakfast and dinner), and it’s never been a disappointment. the food is nothing fancy, just solid and heavy homecooking. the ambiance is casual and comfortable. my only complaint would be the wait— always crowded and since it’s not a huge place, there’s inevitably a wait.
