The Wellington Room is my favorite restaurant in Portsmouth. It never disappoints. Romantic atmosphere and a water view! I am a vegetarian and whenever I go into the restaurant, the Chef comes out and asks what I am in the mood for. He prepares a special dish for me, and it’s always fabulous. My carnivorous boyfriend also loves this place! My ONLY wish was that the Chef would provide sustainable seafood options.

UPDATE: I went to The Wellington Room to test out the restaurant under new ownership and with a new chef. It was still great, although my main course lacked the ‘wow’ factor it used to have. The appetizer and desserts were fantastic, and this restaurant remains my favorite in Portsmouth. I would still prefer if the mains were a bit more creative, particularly the vegetarian option which was pasta primavera. While the pasta was homemade and I could taste the quality, I still would prefer to get something more interesting while going out to an expensive meal.

I have seriously eaten all over the world and am so impressed by the fine dining at The Wellington Room, it is a must try and you will not be sorry…………..
