The Tomato Cafe is definitely one of the regular resaurants I visit. I go mainly for brunch, which is fantastic. Fresh juices & smoothies, free range eggs, back bacon, turkey sausage. They make everything from scratch, no fake ingredients. I was there today and Dan ordered a banana milkshake – yummy.

The food is good enough for me to keep going back despite a few drawbacks:
- I’m sad they left Cambie St, and the new Kits location is not as nice – VERY noisy.
- Service is spotty. Often very good, but I’ve definitely has surly servers and been forgotten about for 10+ minutes

Still, there really isn’t anything like the Tomato, so I’m thankful we have it.

I’ve been a fan of Tomato since its Cambie days and I’m sad to see it move to Kits, though I don’t blame the owners. I come here for the food and decor, though the newly renovated Kits location is a lot different and bigger than the previous neighborhood bistro. I like the open kitchen and bar seating of the new restaurant and glad to see that the menu hasn’t changed. I come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and have never been disappointed with their food, though sometimes with their service at peak hours. That doesn’t stop me from coming back however. I love that the ingredients are usually organic or as fresh as can be. My favourites include Eggs Benny, Tomato style, the Tomato Club (with real roast turkey breast), the daily mussels, the rigatoni with eggplant, chorizo and artichokes, the beef tenderloin, and of course, the Blue Plate Specials. You can’t go wrong here. Dessert is also fabulous. I once had baked alaska here. Yum. This is probably my favourite restaurant in Vancouver.
