I have to start off by admitting my love for Torung. This is the restaurant that claimed my Thai food virginity some 13 to 14 years back. Thinking back to those days, Torung also helped to foster my love of spicy food overall. That being said, I have never been the type to add spice to my food to attain a certain level of heat. Torung simply has very tasty food, some of which happens to be spicy.
From appetizers, soup, noodles and other stir fried dishes, this place does most everything right.
They open at 5pm and usually close at some ungodly hour, I think around 3am.
One of my few gripes about this restaurant is one than many Asian restaurants are guilty of, they charge you for steamed white rice. Maybe its because I grew up with free rice but this is a tiny thing that irks me. Can you imagine having a lovely green curry without rice? I guess I’ll have to learn to live with this reality.
I came in to Torung to have the Chili Garlic Squid which I love. But when I saw the Chili Garlic Fish Fillet, I had to give it a try.
Granted having fish instead of squid is not a huge leap of faith but this has become my favorite way to consume what swims in the ocean. A fillet happens to be the easiest way to partake in this lovely flaky flesh. A whole fish is also available for about $14 bucks.
Spicy and pungent are some of the words that come to mind when eating this dish. But I can also appreciate the care they take to prepare the fish with delicately crisp edges.
I am a chili head so I usually order my Thai food spicy. Not to fear, Torung can make this dish along with the rest of their menu to your taste.

so its perfect after clubbin or leaving a huge event.. very affordable and best pad thai i have ever tried!! casual atmosphere,overall appearance rate 6, but worth the good, fast service and great food. definately check out if you like thai and staying out late!
