I prefer Wakamono sushi to most places in the restaurant for any type of special occasion. There can be a wait on most nights, but the restaurant has a really awesome vibe to it, great music and nice decor. Great for a date, or having a night out with friends. Its typically $$-$$$ sushi prices but the quality is shown.
If i’m just in the mood for quick sushi, I’ll usually just hit up a smaller, cheaper place in the neighborhood, but as soon as I have guests coming to Chicago I take them here.
