no reviews for one of chicago’s beloved? really? the white palace grill is an institution more than a restaurant, keeping its doors open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. if you go there after a party and aren’t (ahem) ready to give up the ghost, there’s a dominick’s a stone’s throw away where you can pick up any additions you’d want to make to your fountain drink; the always-friendly staff will look the other way. just watch out for the security that passes through.

there’s a huge variety of food, ranging from pancakes to tuna melts to burgers. the dishes that comes flying out of the kitchen are dirt-cheap and satisfying, and it’s a great atmosphere. probably listed in ‘1001 Places To Visit Before You Die’, and if it’s not, it should be.
