This was my 2nd visit to Wild Abandon and we had a part of 12. As soon as the doors opened, we were pretty much inside and looking over the menu. While there aren’t a lot of vegan options, the 2 that they had sounded really good, so my husband ordered one dish and I ordered the other.
I overheard someone in our party say that Wild Abandon didn’t have the speediest service, even when there weren’t 12 people to service. I’m not exactly sure how long it took for us to get served, but there were a few things that dropped this restaurant down from a 5-star restaurant to a 4-star restaurant this night. The speed of our service was one thing. The other was the lack of vegan dishes, especially when we would have ordered appetizers and not noticed our food wasn’t ready for a while IF we had some vegan options. Size-wise, the restaurant seems small and because of the dim lighting, a little claustrophobic. Finally, our check was actually $10 more than it should have been because of a mathematical error. If it weren’t for the beautiful lamps in the restaurant the really good dish that I had, I’m not sure what I’d rate it.
This dish is awesome! It’s actually called the Vegan Linguine Soffritto and has veggie sausage, broccoli, zucchini (don’t remember any, which is fine with me), Kalamata Olives, roasted red peppers, onion, basil, and a sauce made of onions, garlic, and tomato). I thought mine had green beans. Anyway, from the first bite to the last, I was in heaven. The dish didn’t contain any ingredients that I don’t like and it was all done to perfection. You could almost say it was worth the long wait for our group to get our food (though one member felt it was highly overpriced at $16). I can’t wait to go back and have this dish again and again.

Wild Abandon is a fantastic place if you have plenty of time to spare and are looking for a comfortable environment. Dozens of colorful glass lamps hang from the ceiling and set a Turkish bazaar-like mood. The lighting is dim, and the bench seats are comfortable.
We (group of 12, Saturday night) waited an extremely long time for our food to come, without anyone advising us why the delay or apologizing.
I would happily return on an evening when I had time to spare and plenty to chat about.
The vegetable linguine with vegetarian sausage was amazingly delicious. The meal was a substantial, satisfying portion for $16. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked. The food made the wait worth it.
