If you’re ripping off names and you’re an actor, I’d go with Pitt, Vaughn or maybe Jolie. If you’re in fashion, Gucci works. Sports, Jordan or Lebron would be a slam dunk. If you’re in business Trump carries weight and if you’re in porn, Steele rolls right off the tongue… In the restaurant industry, who’s better to rip off than Wolfgang Puck? However, Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is no rip off and it isn’t Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant. It’s Wolfgang Zwiener’s restaurant. Haha, I said zwiener…
Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is the ideal NY Steakhouse, it’s fancy, a bit uptight, expensive, has white table cloths, black bow-ties, mahogany wood, the steaks are big and the food is delicious. When I think about Burgers, I typically don’t think of steakhouses, but most of them have a burger on the menu and they are usually expensive and of a very high quality. Wolfgang’s has a burger everyone should know about.
The Traditional burger; I’m thinking lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, cheddar or American cheese, a thick patty and a toasted sesame bun. The traditional burger may have bacon and if it has a sauce it’s either ketchup, mustard or a thousand island. It does however lack any fancy or fun toppings like, Chipotle Mayo, BBQ sauce, onion rings, mushrooms, pineapple or really any other toppings you can think of. If you ask me who makes a great traditional burger I’d probably send you to Houston’s. Almost every restauant servers a traditional burger, and like Redheads, a few are spectacular, many are average and plenty are just terrible. Wolfgang’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills was not only Masterful it was the BEST traditional burger I’ve ever had. Everything about this burger was perfect. It’s not cheap at $15 bucks, but when the plate comes out and you see that your massive 10oz burger also comes with fries and onion strings, you feel like you’re getting one hell of a deal.
The meat was exceptional. It tasted great and held together. The cheese was a simple cheddar and it almost glazed onto the burger which worked really well when I pushed the top of the toasted sesame bun down it fused to the chesse and the burger. When biting into the burger, juices exploded out of it making a sauce unnecessary. The tomato was thickly cut and they provided a ton of great tasting pickle chips. The bun wasn’t too thick, or too fluffy, it wasn’t cheap or pulled out of a bag, it was just right for the burger and toasted ever so perfectly.
When it comes to burgers, this one falls into my top 5, but when it comes to a traditional burger this one was KING!
