Yong Shing of Auburn has progressively been getting worse and worse, after a failed attempt last year we didn’t think it could get worse but to no avail they have managed to make things worse, bad service, the bar tenders ignore you and the food seems to be deliberately bad.
Why?, and how could you care so little about your customers and reputation?

We’ve been going to YS’s for many years. Since moving to the new location around the corner, its become a very disappointing experience, at least from Thursday thru Sunday. Forget going any of those evenings unless you want loud noise, obnoxious patrons, and lousy service. The service is horrible, and the place is beyond noisy with patrons yelling above each other trying to be heard. The once reliable waitstaff has become slow and complacent, ignoring orders and requests. The only saving grace is their bartender, Randy, who continues to be efficient, friendly and makes the best mai tai’s around. It’s a wonder that the food quality has remained fairly high, but it’s not worth the negativity of being there. They have sushi now which is pretty good, tho presentation seriously lacking especially for the cost. The parking is a huge problem. They have valet parking, but that is of little help.
I’ve had this before, with other sushi-type of dishes at YS. Their sushi is tasty and fresh. However, presentation is lacking. Until or unless they improve the overall quality, they should reduce their sushi prices. The roll had overly sticky rice and was stacked so that the pieces stuck to each other and fell apart. Our party ordered several sushi dishes and all were put on one platter which made it very difficult to handle. We pre-ordered extra condiments but that was forgotten, and then were only given condiments enough for one dish. We requested more but it never arrived. There was one plastic garnish that should’ve been left off as it would’ve been better to have none than something like that. One order for our party came so late we were all finished eating when it arrived. No excuse for service as bad as that. One person ordered a Chinese appetizer meal and was satisfied with the quality but said the take-out is better.
