5.0I actually found ZEN by accident. Foxy’s Red Hots used to be in the same location. They had great gyros. I went there and found a small family restaurant that had just opened. I was starving, so I figured I would give it a try. I lived in Thailand for almost a year, so I’ve got a pretty good idea of what Thai food should taste like.
I ordered the Tom Yum Goong (shrimp) and Pad Thai w/pork, a pretty safe bet for trying out a Thai restaurant that you have never been to/heard anything about. Tom Yum…fresh, hot and tasty. I had to spice it up just a bit, but all the condiments for more heat you could ever need are right there on the table, so you can add as much as you like! Pad Thai…EXACTLY like the real thing. And every time I go there, I am always impressed. The food there is AMAZING. If you must have atmosphere, go to the Loop. If you want incredibly authentic food at very reasonable prices and a friendly staff, go to ZEN! You will not be disappointed!!!
Very fresh and authentic! I love some spice, so I had to add a little more.
Flavorful, incredibly authentic! A staple of Thai food. A great dish for those that want an “Intro to Thai food”!
Rich and flavorful, with fresh stir-fried vegetables. I tried the tofu, and it was just as good as any meat.
You are gonna love it! And the taste of basil after you finish the dish will leave you wanting more as soon as you step out of the restaurant.
Large (De-veined) shrimp (i can’t eat them otherwise) as well as minced fish ball, ground chicken, and delightfully firm but not too chewy squid adorn this flavorful combination of soup and noodle dish. A must-try dish.

5.0I could not agree more. This place is fantastic. We jusr discovered it one month ago and have been back a dozen times and have taken four friends, who have gone back and taken their friends. We ALL agree. We love it! It is kinda tucked away in a small shopping center, but not difficult to find. The food is amazing and the prices are soooo reasonable. The curries are out of this world. We actually are afraid that it will get so popular that we will have to make a reservation to get in. Try it.
YMMMM! Delicious, spiced to fit your taste. NOT greasy. Serving is large enough that you can have one of gigantic Thai spring rolls, an order of Drunken Noodles and still enough to have lunch the next day.
