Lucky House is a Hidden Gem!
Located in a small strip mall abutting the railroad tracks, Lucky House is truly a Hidden Gem! The folks there seem to never take time off. (They remind me of my grandparents, who came from Portugal in 1918 and started their own business.)
Lucky House is close to the green, on Route 44 (73 Winthrop Street). They deliver (Min. $10.00, $1.00 delivery charge) or you can call for Take-Out (508) 822-8828. You could even dine there, if you wish, in the small dining area.
I recommend that you CALL and GO GET THE FOOD and LEAVE A TIP!

Beef Chow Mein Sandwich
Perfect for low budget days [there’s also plain ($1.95) and chicken {or pork} ($2.45) {or shrimp ($2.95)} ] or just for the hell of it! It is the same excellent Beef Chow Mein, except the noodles are in the sandwich! It takes more than two hands to handle this BEEF CHOW MEIN SANDWICH!
You should ORDER TWO WITH a SMALL order of FRENCH FRIES ($1.95). Including the Kennedy 5% Massachusetts Meal Tax, that is $8.25! Remember to ASK FOR HOT MUSTARD (for the fries) GIVE THE GIRL A $10. BILL AND TELL HER TO KEEP THE CHANGE!

Lucky Favorites!
My follow-up review for this restaurant. Read my previous review for this restaurant here
Since I order from there often, I often order something other than my usual Large Beef Chow Mein (with which lately I have been requesting a Large order of extra Crispy Noodles – Even more portions can be dished out!).
Here are some of my other favorites:
-
Kung Pao Three Delights
I recommend the "Kung Pao Three Delights with Beef, Chicken and Jumbo Shrimp in spicy szechuan sauce with peanuts and vegetables. Just imagine it. You pour it over the white rice with which it comes. And there are peanuts in it!
-
Beef Mei Fun
Pronounced “May” Fun, it is somewhat like lo mein. However, the noodles are thin like angel hair.
-
Fried Jumbo Shrimp (large)
These are great! (Aside from the Instructions for maintaining the human body included in your Bible.) Sometimes I get a Small order ($3.75) and a Small Beef Fried Rice ($3.50)(not inluding the Kennedy 5% Massachusetts Meal Tax). Remember to ASK FOR HOT MUSTARD AND LEAVE A TIP!
-
Hot and Spicy Beef
Another of the “House Specialties”, you pour it over the white rice with which it comes. Like the “Kung Pao Three Delights”, it is spicy; but it is onions, green peppers, carrots, celery and spicy sauce with all Beef.
-
Large Beef Chow Mein
Large Beef Chow Mein is my usual order. It is enough to fill three glass pie plates with the container of Chow Mein, the packages of crunchy chow mein noodles, and the container of white rice that all come in the package; not to mention the fortune cookie! How Lucky can you get?
