So when you’re craving some good, but simple food, California Chicken Cafe is the place to go. Every time I go to LA, I come here for a simple, but delicious meal.
So, the heart of the menu is the roasted chicken (duh). You can pick whole, half, dark meat only, white meat only, or whatever floats your boat. The chicken is tender, juicy, and tasty.
On top of the chicken, there are about 8-9 different side dishes to choose from. My fave is the brocolli pasta salad. With their mashed potatoes comes a gravy that is almost like a thick chicken broth…very tasty and not full of starch and artificial flavors.
The actual restaurant is low frills. It’s semi-fast food in the sense you order the food at the register and then they give you a number and deliver it to you. Like I said, nice and simple meal…
Excellent chicken and sides!
There are lots of different options for chicken lovers – whether you like light or dark meat! But if you dont like chicken – this is definitely not for you. It’s a really nice roasted chicken – perfectly cooked. And there are a bunch of different side to choose from, so all will be happy!

half chicken with 3 sides
two of us shared the half chicken with 3 sides… we had the pasta broccoli salad, the mashed potatoes and gravy, and the rice with veggies. the chicken was perfectly cooked – delicious! the sides were a good match – not too much, but very tasty.
