Best Mexican Restaurant So Far
I’ve only been in the Galveston area for about 4 months. I’m a transplant from San Antonio and had been search for a place that came close to my favorite Mexican restaurants in San Antonio. I almost gave up hope and then an employee of mine suggested this place.
Well, I’m giving her a raise because this place has exceeded my expectations This place could EASILY compete with San Antonio area mexican restaurants. It’s that good.
The breakfast plates are very well made. Eggs, potatoes, beans, bacon, etc… are superb. They are known for their breakfast burritos which are huge and very well priced. The sauce that they serve — a ranchero type of sauce — is fantastic. It has a bit of a kick but it’s not too hot.
This is a place where the locals hang out and it starts to get sort of busy after 7am which is a sign that this IS the place to eat. It’s right across the street from city hall and you often find local “celebreties” in the place.
Service is great with plenty of refills on coffee. For what you get in both food and service vs. the price this place rates 5 stars. I’ve been to the place 4 times in the last week and this place will become my main hangout for breakfast and maybe even lunch (I’ve heard good things about their enchiladas and rice).
