They say making a latte correctly is an art form. Some baristas go above and beyond and literally make art with each latte.
Flowers Latte Art
As you might expect, Coffee art is common in Seattle. The flowers latte art shown here comes from Makeda Coffee in Seattle.
Latte Art Design
Latte art is can be created by pouring techniques often resulting in flowers or rosettas. It can also be created via etching with a coffee stirrer. Or, as shown here, a combination of the two can make some amazing designs.
Pirate Ghost Latte Art
Sometimes coffee shops that are known for their coffee, mocha, or latte art will try to break out of flower art and create new designs during special times like Halloween.
Dragon Latte Art.
Some of the best artists in the barista business actually came from tattoo parlors. Not all coffee art needs to be flowers and cute little bunnies.
Flower Latte Art
By adding chocolate syrup to the latte art mix, greater contrast and more interesting designs can be achieved.
Monkey Latte Art
Cartoonists-turned-baristas can add playful designs to the latte art scene. Every year several latte art competitions take place throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Face Latte Art
Latte art isn't confined to US and Canadian borders. This particular art was created in a Bohemian Cafe in Melbourne Australia.
Frog Latte Art
Not all latte art creators are professional baristas. Some people do this at home, or in this case, on vacation while travelling in Japan.
Giraffe Latte Art
Animal coffee creations are some of the most impressive forms of latte art. However, even more impressive is human faces, which you will see in the next few slides.
Stewie Griffin Family Guy Latte
Latte art can be inspired by famous people or icons as you will see in the next few images. Clearly this barista was a family guy fan.
Matt Lauer Latte Art
When Michael Keen visited the today show, he created a few lattes mimicing the hosts of the show. This one is of Matt Lauer.
Al Roker Latte Art
When Michael Keen visited the today show, he created a few lattes mimicing the hosts of the show. This one is of Al Roker.
Java Coffee Printer
This coffee art is far more controversial. A printer was invented to print coffee "ink" directly onto a drink. Clearly this is cheating, but it is amazing that someone pulled it off.
