Tomatoes

wow!

Wow! What a great little place! I’m so happy we’ve found Tomatoes. The price is reasonable, and the food is perfect. Real Italian, not the packaged sameness that you find in chains. My family and I loved it, I can’t wait to come back.

The Eclectic Chef

May 21, 2008 Link

Bad Service

I used to like this little restaurant in the heart of Summerville. The food was great and you got plenty of it. I would always see at least one welcoming smile as I got up to the counter.

I have been coming to The Eclectic Chef for probably 2 years or more now. After the beginning of this year things went far downhill. The service lacks because the wait staff is far too busy talking to each other or just acting as though they wished you would go away. The food is not longer as large an amount or as tasty. Prices have gone up, but food quality has gone down. Consistency is an issue. And at these prices, the food should come on a plate, not a plastic basket.

Overall, I do like the gourmet-to-go, but my family and I will not be returning anytime soon just because the staff is rude.

What I ate:
  • **

I seem to remember getting more apple and brie last time, and much left pesto mayo on this sandwich. The bacon is pre-packaged pre-cooked, and the turkey leaves much to be desired. The bread was wonderful, though I miss the days when it was round Foccacia. The pasta salad, as always, is to die for.

Extras:
I came here for
fun with friends
My meal cost
between $10 and $25
I tipped
less than 15%
