Samira's Restaurant

Best Lamb in the Midwest for Dinner - Yum Chicken for Lunch
Samira is an outstanding bargain for the quality of the food, particularly the lamb dishes, though they also have chicken, shrimp, beef, and vegetarian dishes as well. I checked with the chef and they actually fly their lamb in from New Zealand. I usually get the lamb shish-kabob for dinner and it was better than any of the several Afghan restaurants I had tried in “Little Kabul” in Fremont, CA.
They also provide a spicy eggplant appetizer gratis as well as their homemade flat bread…warm and fresh. Another outstanding side dish is their marinated mushrooms. If you go during weekday lunchtime, they have one of the best lunch buffets, with excellent chicken, meatballs, salad, and even baklava for dessert!

Lamb Shish Kabob
Always tasty. The meat is mostly tender (I like mine rare) but once in a while is a little tough so I reduced the five star rating to four. It actually is mostly five star. The grilled flavor of the meat combined with their marinade is always outstanding.
Sunny Palace

Lunch is a total steal here!
You can eat a delicious meal at the Sunny Palace anytime, but really, the lunch specials are a total steal! For under $6.00 you get one of about a dozen main courses, choice of steamed or fried rice, choice of soup, and hot tea all included. My favorite is the garlic chicken. It’s marked with a little pepper symbol on the menu to indicate “spicy” but really it’s quite mild (to my taste) with a very delicate garlic flavor. Generous, tender chunks of chicken and veggies with a nice serving of rice on your plate. I usually get the hot and sour soup, but you can also get egg drop or won ton. This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in B-Town, closely followed by The Dragon.
