Does the next Emeril Lagasse work at Mojo's?!?! No.
In the last 15 years since the internet has been around, seldomly have I found the motivation to right a review of a restaurant online. The few times I have, I didn’t actually go through with it. I can’t let this one slip by though. Yeah, that’s how bad this place is
We went on a Monday night, around 7:45pm. The place was empty. We were seated quickly…that’s the peak. It’s all downhill from here. First off, we were given the wrong menus. Well, some of us had the right menu, and some of us the wrong one…so they got that part like 50% right. So we ordered some drinks. One of our party members got a Manhattan…which pretty much consisted of room temperature bourbon with a cherry in it. Good try.
We skipped appetizers. We went ahead and ordered entrees…nothing real complicated. I think the hardest it got was a chicken sandwich.
IT TOOK OVER 35 MINUTES FOR US TO GET OUR FOOD! 4 EASY DISHES IN AN EMPTY RESTAURANT! Simple grilled chicken sandwich, some gumbo, some fettucini, and veggie sandwich.
We finally asked the waitress what the problem was, who responded “Oh, we need to cook the chicken. We don’t like to serve raw chicken to our customers.”
How considerate. “Hey Jim! That chicken done yet? It’s been on the grill for OVER A HALF AN HOUR!”
We did however get a glimpse into the kitchen, and noticed that all their chefs were stuffing their mouths! I wish I was kidding.
When we finally did get our food, the rice in the “seafood” gumbo WAS NOT COOKED! For the love of God could this get any worse? We didn’t let it. Check please! And folks, it wasn’t cheap.
For the love of all that is holy, spare yourself and your loved ones. Don’t eat here. If you’re going to open up a “taste of new orleans” restaurant in new orleans, you better be pretty damn good.
Just go to Zea’s or Copelands right across the street. Seriously.
