Awarded 3 Michelin Stars this year, you can’t go wrong! They are one of the many fabulous restaurants in the city that offer the $28 three-course lunch; which is a steal. The fennel salad with shrimp is yummy. In the summer they offer refreshing curried melon-mint soup. They offer very fulfilling organic chicken. For dinner, get the Fois Gras or the red snapper if they are offered on the menu. Don’t get the salmon, it is always salty and very average. Only go if you want good food and enjoy your dining experience. Don’t go if you want to go to a trendy place. This place is only trendy for elderly women at a median age of 70. Dessert is a must.

Sucks this is the only legit macrobiotic place in all of Los Angeles, because the menu is “okay” when you compare it to the macrobiotic places in SF & NY. But for LA alone, it is a “great” macrobiotic place, with the same owner as Chaya Brasserie. They only serve coffee with soy milk, which is fine for me, but sucks for anyone who hates soy. I like the tofu cakes, tuna rolls & hijiki inari. The salads are sometimes bland, because the coldness of the deli case de-flavors them. Now as for the desserts… the chocolate cupcakes are a must & the tiramisu.

Get everything BUT the sushi here. The sushi rolls are very average, although the sashimi is fresh. Love the lobster salad and the miso black cod. I used to go here all the time, until one day I ordered sushi and the rice was overcooked and the seaweed was soggy. The sushi person said ‘sorry, it’s from the humidity & we are right across from the ocean.’ After that, I never returned. Although this is the only Nobu in the world, where you can walk in with shorts and sandals, since everyone during the early evening is coming straight from the beach.

The waiter asked me if I wanted fresh ground black pepper, I said yes. He picked up the pepper shaker from my table and sprinkled it onto my omelet! I’m still baffled by this. If you sit near the bar, it reaks like old wine. Brunch was average, for a BR Guest restaraunt, I was a bit disappointed.
