The cafe is located within the Kinokuniya bookstore on the 2nd floor. They have great cafe drinks and have a great pastry/dessert selection to look at.
They also sell lunch bentos which the other Cafe Zaiya’s don’t have. I got their Yakisoba omelette.. which sounds weird but was really goood!

If you go between 12PM-3PM, you can get lunch and a drink for $5!

I like taking my friends here if there’s a large number and no one is sure of what they want. This is one of the restaurants where all their food is good, but nothing is particularly special about. It’s just a very well rounded Korean restaurant.
My only suggestion is don’t go here for galbitang. It was very bland and soup was weak. But everything else was very satisfactory!
Their Korean BBQ is always good, and also their dolsot, and typical korean foods. Very clean and nicely decorated Korean Restaurant.

One of my favorite Thai restaurant in LA....

One of my favorite Thai restaurant in LA. Great food and great scenery (in more than one way ;) )
The waitress are very well dressed in my opinion.. (i’m just kidding, they’re barely wearing anything)

I have to say.. their food is overall very good, but my favorite that stands out has to be the Duck Salad. The Duck salad is refreshing, with tender duck meat, but crispy from the skin. It was nicely balanced. Their Rad-nah is also very good but it takes a while to get the black pepper hotness out of your tongue!

I usually think Thai food is thai food, it’s good but never something I’d crave, but this place makes me crave Thai food often!

The best Brazilian BBQ I have had yet! I have been to other places, but I usually get sick of the meat QUICK. (I mean it’s just different pieces of meat marinated using rock salt on a stick). What made me go on and on without getting sick of the meat was the salad bar they had. There were alot of sauces to use with the meat, my favorite being the Cilantro sauce, and alot of variety of things to keep your taste buds excited.
The interior looks very nice and classy. I really like how one of the walls is used as a large wine cellar. It gives a very classy but also earthy(?) feel to the restaurant.
Be warned though $50 per person when I went there (2-3 years ago)

A favorite restaurant to go to in Pasadena among some of my friends. They have great food, not too greasy or salty, and also has great margaritas! When I crave Mexican food, I crave El Portal!
I think I got their Chile Relleno (I hope i spelled that right) or whatever it was.. it was delicious. I finished the plate even though I was full halfway through the dish!

The best Bossam that I can think of in...

The best Bossam that I can think of in California! I tried some other places in LA, Fullerton, Garden Grove.. but I have to say Kohbawoo is the best here.. unless you make it yourself at home.
Their modeum bossam (the large plate combo) is just amazing. It includes steamed pork (bossam) with picked veggies to wrap the pork around, but it also includes Pork hock, and a small fish dish. It’s big enough to fill 3-4 people.. and I mean fill them up.
The jaengbangooksu is also very good, it’s refreshing and spicy and feels like you’re eating healthy (although it’s not really)

The best galbitang in CA!!!
Park dae gam is originally from Korea (Chung Dam Dong) and I have to say.. it’s pretty good.
The other stuff on the menu is good too, although their BBQ menu is way to pricey. But then again, I think you go to a place known for Galbitang.. for the Galbitang.. Their dduk galbitang is also very good.. although it doesn’t really taste like a galbitang then.. just feel like dduk gook with alot of meat.

I have to say. I was really not impressed with this place.. My coworker kept telling me it’s the best Thai place.. (found out he’s never been there too)
The food was not that great, if it was my first time trying Thai food, I have to say I wouldn’t be thrilled to eat Thai food again. It feels like there’s something missing for all the dishes.
The interior I have to say was not impressing either. They went for a very modern and hip restaurant look, but they seem to have only gone to the substandard level. First of all, for being a hip looking restaurant and all these flourishings to the interior.. they put in plain furniture and a really cheap looking menu. Then the food comes out not looking like a 4 star meal but the same as if you would have ordered it from Thai Spice.

The sushi price is on the high side, but the fish is very fresh and tasty! I sat at the sushi bar, and the sushi chef was very friendly and nice to talk to.
When I went in May, they said it’s the one month out of the year that the blue soft shell crab is in season and it was very delicious! They got the live crab cut it in half and put it into the batter right away and fried it. I know I’ll be going back in May just for the crabs :)
