Border Cafe

Fun
I’m surprised no one has made note of this restaurant as it is packed daily for both lunch and dinner. It’s a wacky casual mix of mexican and cajun food. The decor is just as wacky but the whole overall atmosphere is just fun. Our favorite dish is a Cadillac Fajita. It’s made with Filet Mignon…wow! Can’t get any better. It’s not a place to have much of a conversation however. The combination of people and music levels makes it one noisy place.
Ristorante Marco

Great
My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was great, the atmosphere was charming and cozy and the prices were excellent. I had a Veal Franchese which was not on the menu. It was superbly done. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his Clams Linguini. Marco also has a very nice wine list. This is definitely going to be one of our local favorites.
Firebirds Woodfired Grill

Very Nice
This restaurant is a great addition to the area. It just opened in July. We found the atmosphere charming and classy. The wait staff was very good and the food was wonderful. We each had a small prime rib and at a very reasonable price. Their wine list is small but their choices were well done including a few “captain’s” offerings. We recommended it to a co-worker and he has made it one of his favorites now too.
C.W. Harborside

Worth looking at
This is the new name for Conley Wards on the Riverfront. It is a beautiful place both inside and out. They offer full meal choices as well as burgers and tapas and have a very nice wine cellar. They have some tweaking to do for consistency. A jumbo blue crab plate showed up with one of the crabs about the size of spider and one plate of vegetables had not been cooked at all and were raw and cold. Both were corrected promptly. We will definitely give it another try. The bars outside looked fun for a summer evening.
Krazy Kats

What a great brunch. Krazy Kats is part of...
What a great brunch. Krazy Kats is part of the Montchanin Inn and Village. It is one of the best brunches I have had. Kats is not a buffet brunch. Everything is ordered by plate and the selections range from unique to your basic egg dishes. The decor is upscale and quirky with framed pictures of cats and dogs in uniforms and animal print chairs and tablecloths. The prices were surprisingly reasonable.

Eggs Benedict
Fabulous. I had my benedict with canadian bacon while my husband chose the salmon.
Kenny's Pan Asian Cuisine

Very Good
Kenny’s offers a different twist on Asian with dishes from many cultures and served with a unique flair. The beef with broccoli was served as a whole steak rather than thin sliced with a wonderful sauce. Their fried rice is delectable. They have a sizeable menu including many sushi/sashimi choices. Service is a little slow and they definitely are in need of a wine list. Their choices are limited and poor quality. I also would consider “warming” up the decor a bit.
Pot Stickers Asian Grill

Great food and atmosphere
This place is great. We have eaten here on multiple occasions and have not been disappointed once. There are many choices from regular meals to sushi and sashimi. Each lunch or dinner we have tried something different and each time the food was wonderful. The decor is beautiful. Very contemporary and serene. Their sweet sticky buns are very tasty. I love the wonton soup and their molten chocolate cake for dessert was perfect.
Hibachi Japanese Steak House
Apr 21, 2008
Terrible
We have tried three of Hibachi’s locations and they all have two things in common. One is that the restaurant decor is tired and dirty. The other is terrible food. We like hibachi style cooking and have been to many restaurants including well knowns such as Benihana and Sakura. They are clean, classy and top of the line both in food and service. We will be driving to Bel Air to Sakura in the future.
La Casa Pasta Restaurant

Excellent
My husband and I really liked this place. The food was wonderful and they had a very nice wine list. It’s a surprise inside as it is strangely attached to a 7-11. It’s a more formal setting so jeans would seem out of place here.
