El Mirasol
Aug 31, 2008
I would come back to El Mirasol in a heartbeat.
The hotel concierge at La Quinta Resort and Spa recommended El Mirasol for “very good Mexican food” and said it was the place she always goes to for the “real deal”.
LOCATION:
Very easy to get to, clearly visible from Palm Canyon Dr. There is limited parking in the back.
AMBIANCE:
It’s nothing too special, in fact I was really turned off when I first walked in and thought that maybe had ended up in the wrong place. Everything looked run down and the furniture was old and falling apart. It is not a come here for the atmosphere type of places.
MENU:
Very basic and limited but the ones they do have you can’t go wrong with. The food was amazing. True authentic Mexican food all very good, it made up for the surroundings and then some. I recommend the tacos, enchiladas, and tamales.
SERVICE:
The woman serving us was very nice and welcoming. She made good suggestions and explained to us that they do not freeze anything and that all their products are fresh.
PRICE:
Very modest and appropriate.
OVERALL:
I would come back to El Mirasol in a heartbeat. The food was excellent! It’s very authentic. The atmosphere could have been better but it is a small sacrifice to make. 5 stars for the food 3 for the ambiance averages out to 4 stars.

Bella Vista Restaurant
Aug 31, 2008
Great food with great views!
LOCATION:
The Bella Vista restaurant is truly in the middle of nowhere and can be a daunting drive when there is bad weather/fog but the drive is well worth it!
AMBIANCE:
The restaurant itself is a little dated. It is dark inside and has an old European feel to it. It is much more romantic feeling than anything else and I was not bothered in the least in fact it really added to the charm.
MENU:
This is a classic place for a great fillet minion and I would also strongly recommend the grand Marnier soufflé but everything on the menu that I have tried has been wonderful.
SERVICE:
Classic European style service, fast, attentive and exactly what you would expect for the price.
PRICE:
Not cheap, it is a special occasion restaurant but well worth it!
OVERALL:
I had a great time. I came here for my birthday after someone recommended it to me, everyone in my party had a wonderful time!
