Depends on which location
This a family owned group of restaurants. The original is on Southwest Blvd and 24th St. in KCMO. It is truly the best of the bunch. The one on Rainbow is excellent, and a bit more user-friendly. We were unimpressed with the one near 7th st and Kansas Ave in KCK.
Dishes I tried:
camarones con salsa de hongos
Yummm!

Great place to meet your friends
The “Cheers” of coffee houses. This is a warm and friendly family oriented place. There is even a special children’s corner with small furniture, books and toys. The food is simple but excellent. There is even ice cream to cool off on these hot days.
It’s my favorite place to stop in for an early morning muffin and mug of tea on my way to work.

Great food, too much smoke
I love this place and would go more often if it was not so smoky. Merriam has not passed a smoking ordinance yet.
They have wonderful food, Gyros, excellent hamburgers, seafood pasta, steaks and he most wonderful sweet potato fries.
Most evenings they have live music, blues and jazz bands from the local area.
Many of my friends have the same problem with smokey restaurants. The owners are so concerned they will lose business if a smoking ban is passed. They don’t realize how many people would prefer clean air while they are dining.
Dishes I tried:
sweet potato fries
Best I’ve ever eaten.
