I took a friend to lunch at Basile’s for her birthday, only because my restaurant of choice in Jamesburg was, unfortunately, closed on Sunday. We both ordered the rack of lamb special at $28.50 each. The menu listed a hazelnut-encrusted rack of lamb served with a delectable-sounding mascarpone and asparagus risotto! The lamb, which was requested medium rare, was delivered to our table blue -raw and cold in the center- and was breaded with nothing but bread crumbs. Then, without informing us, mashed potatoes were substituted for the risotto we were looking so forward to. A very poor dining experience and I wouldn’t return. I called to inform the manager and his response was “I only work weekdays”. I guess he only deals with weekday concerns!!!
