Chopsticks Inn Restaurant

Dec 27, 2007 Link

One of my favorites!

Chopsticks Inn is a charming little hole in the wall Chinese restaurant in La Mesa. The service is good, and the food is GREAT! I am a vegetarian who has certain preparation requests, and they honor my requests quite faithfully. I especially recommend Buddha’s Medallions to any veg-heads out there. Chopsticks Inn also will cook any dish you like using “fake meat”.

What I ate:
  • *****

Delicious combination of tastes and textures.

Extras:
I came here for
a romantic date
My meal cost
between $10 and $25
I tipped
between 15% to 18%

Pannikin Coffee & Tea

Dec 17, 2007 Link

I love Pannikin

I will start by saying I am not the most unbiased reviewer. I am a long-time Pannikin goer and love the environment there, as much as the food. It is a great place to go to sit and enjoy life. The baked goods are to die for. I am vegetarian and try to eat relatively low-fat, as well. My favorite meal at Pannkin is a combo with the Insalada Riviera (a delicious pesto dressing is served on the side) and lentil soup (soups vary from day to day), with corn tortillas in place of the bread that typically accompanies the combo. The Indo Noir is my favorite espresso sold at Pannikin (to brew at home), and the green coconut ginger is my favorite tea.

What I ate:
  • *****

A wonderful blend with spinach, sundried tomatoes (that have been infused with basil, as best as I can tell), almonds, feta, and a wonderful pesto dressing

  • *****

Deliciousness in a bowl, with subtle seasoning that I cannot duplicate at home. Best accompanied with corn tortillas.

  • *****

Nice and spicy and seemingly very healthful!

Extras:
I came here for
a meal on the go
My meal cost
less than $10
I tipped
less than 15%
