Excellent lunch buffet
This is my favorite place to go for Indian food, and I go for the buffet. All of the food that I have ever tried on the buffet was tasty, and I usually try most dishes. I’m kind of a wimp when it comes to spicy foods, so I’m happy that most of the dishes are not out of my spice range. The highlight of the buffet — that which sets it apart from others — is the fresh naan bread delivered to the table.
On a side note, Shere-E-Punjab recently got their liquor license, and seem to have a nice variety of beers and mixed drinks. When I went yesterday with my husband for the Greater Philadelphia Ethnic Dining Meetup July event, we were able to try a beer we never had before — Taj. It wasn’t an exceptional beer, but it’s always nice to be able to try something new.
Dishes I tried:
Naan
The naan bread here is the best! Delivered hot and fresh to the table, it’s the perfect accompaniment to the meal.

Authentic Mexican food
I’ve been to La Marqueza several times, and I keep going back for a reason — the enchiladas with salsa verde. Before this restaurant, I wasn’t aware of my love for salsa verde. I usually ordered the “safer” items — dishes I knew wouldn’t be too weird or spicy for me. And although enchiladas aren’t weird by any means, I was worried about the spice level. But the instant the first bite passed my lips, I was addicted. The combination of flavors was incredible — meat, cheese, sauce, spices.
Since my first time, I’ve gotten the enchiladas with salsa verde other places, but they never live up to that first time at La Marqueza.

Just incredible.

Authentic Peruvian food
I’m assuming the food here is authentic, because of the staff and the diners. Even if it isn’t, it’s very tasty. I’ve gone with my husband, who shares my love of ethnic food, and always enjoy the experience. I’m not sure if they still ever offer it, but we’ve been invited to a special buffet which was great. The buffet allowed us to sample a little of a lot of dishes. As the organizer of the Greater Philadelphia Ethnic Dining Meetup, I’m seriously considering bringing my group here for a dinner.

Amazing unique Burmese food
This is probably my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. When I took over the Greater Philadelphia Ethnic Dining Out Meetup group, I knew I had to have an event there. We did, and it was a success! Everyone loved it.
I love the Thousand Layer Bread with Vatana Bean Dip. It’s almost like naan bread, and the dip is like a warm, not-quite-sweet hummus.
The entree that I have to have is the Rangoon Night Market Noodle. I discovered about halfway through my first time eating it that the pickled salad on the side is key to enhancing the flavor. Without it, the dish is just tasty. But with it, it becomes insanely good.
Just writing this review makes me want to go back…
