This is a nice place all around. As someone said, fancy, but not too fancy. This place is always packed, so make sure you get a reservation.
I tend to start out with a sample platter which goes well with the pita’s that they give you. I’ve had the kabobs and the M’Sakhan which are great. Desserts, while good, but were too sweet for me (as are many middle-eastern desserts).

Went to the smaller Pizzeria. It is small so you need to get there early and it can get quite loud inside. The pizza is slightly more Italian style (thinner crust, less sauce, etc.), but with a California style flair. The pizza was good, and the dessert was different (not bad, but not great) and prices were reasonable.

I had really high expectations for this restaurant, some were met and some weren’t. the food was of course superb and much more creative than other restaurants even within it’s class and price range (~$40/person no booze).
However, they didn’t have a table for us even with reservations and waiting awhile! Also whatever you do, do not sit outside for lunch. The sun can be quite harsh.

A rather popular Greek place in downtown Palo Alto. For those who eat lamb, they are one of the best places to go. Usually tender and tasty without much of the gamey taste. Not many places can prepare lamb well, but this is one of them.

This is a great ramen shop. It is probably the best in the bay area. They don’t have as much selection as some of the other places, but it is the best all around. The broth is slow cooked so it is tasty, but the noodles aren’t quite as good as Maruichi on Castro. It is a only a single store space so there can be a wait, but it is worth it.
