Pleasant Dinner at Ciao's in Vista

We very much enjoyed our meals at Ciao’s Italian Restaurant in Vista. If you order a salad (other than the small House Salad) for about $6 it will nicely serve 4 or more people as an appetizer. I enjoyed a dish of lazagna that was a generous serving, easily feeding 2 normal appetites. Our Italian friends praised the ricotta-stuffed shells, and enjoyed a bountiful plate of angel hair spaghetti, generously laced with garlic. My husband, however, would have preferred the cloves of garlic as optional. Ciao’s offers gourmet personal sized pizzas, or the more traditional 12" or 16" which come on a thinner crust. The main dinners of veal, chicken, etc. looked good, and a person in our party commented that the meal was delicious. I understand that the spumoni ice-cream was great, and from the size of the serving I would suggest that it be shared by two!

This restaurant is a little “out of the way” and seems to have seating when many other (centrally located) eateries would not on, say . . . a Friday or Saturday night. Ciao’s will accomodate larger parties, and they also cater.

Dishes I tried:

The salad was huge and filled with mixed greens, walnuts, gorgonzola and a few other nice additions . . . all tossed in a pleasant vinegarette dressing. We shared it 5 ways!
