I'd go back... particularly for the Banana Cream pie
Everything else was great though too. Excellent dinners had by all, complemented by the amazing view of the Chicago river & city skyline, even from our indoor table. The wine list was decently priced. I had the grilled Mahi Mahi with a ginger-panko crust was delicious – very flavorful, tender and moist. I didn’t find the orange-saffron butter to be needed, but was a nice option. My friends & I shared 3 sides, which weren’t anything to write home about, but the loaded baked potato was awesome, and seriously the largest spud we’d ever seen- 5 of us shared 1! My friends raved about their fillet mignons & lobsters – tender & succulent. Servers & staff were friendly and helpful, & not pushy as well. We almost passed on dessert, but one look at the menu changed our mind. We settled on the Homemade Banana Cream pie – not the first dessert I would have gone for normally. However, this was by far, one of the Best desserts I’ve had in a while & have been thinking about since. Lots of bananas in a light filling surrounded by the best crust – peanut butter graham cracker. Delicious! I will definitely go back – if even just for dessert!
Dishes I tried:
Grilled Mahi Mahi
Flavorful, tender and moist with the ginger-panko crust adding a nice texture. Large portion – could feed 2 people
Homemade Banana Cream Pie
I’d give this 10 stars if I could! Not normally a fan of banana cream pie – however, this was one of the Best desserts I’ve ever had – and I live for desserts. Light, creamy filling with loads of bananas. The crust made this dessert – peanut butter graham cracker – you can’t get any better! The caramel sauce went well. I could go back just for this dessert (though a few others sounded awesome…) Either way, I’ll be dreaming of this tonite.
