Wonderful service and a great atmosphere....

Wonderful service and a great atmosphere. Can’t beat the $1 Sapporo on draft during happy hour. Sat at the sushi bar and had a real fun experience. High quality fish. Tender and clean to the taste. Everything was quite delicious, but the two things that were exceptional among the selections were the seared scallop sushi and seared japanese beef sushi. The scallops were so tender and silky. the searing adds a nice smokiness to the flavor. The japanese beef sushi was very tender and rich in flavor. The scallions gave it a touch of smokiness and the citrus sauce balanced it out perfectly with a taste that cuts through the palette. Expect to drop a couple bucks here, but it’s worth it for the quality.

Nice atmosphere with very personable and friendly service. Strictly Japanese BBQ. There’s a grill at your table like korean bbq, but they use sawdust charcoal so it’s odorless but offers high consistent heat. Go there for the happy hour! (5-7pm and 9pm – Last call 10-last call on weekends) 50% of featured meat of the day, anything from short ribs to prime rib eye. High quality meats and here’s the big draw for happy hour… 99cent beers!! Can’t beat it. Regular dining is quite expensive and if you’ve got the wallet for it, they even offer american kobe. Great place to enjoy each others company at a casual pace.

They offer a wide selection of Ramen and I must agree with Bea… their soup base is better than Shin Sen Gumi. Though, if i’m just craving ramen, I think I’d stick with Shin sen gumi. Apart from the Ramen they have a variety of foods to satisfy your appetite. The service there is kind of on the low side. Not very tentative and everyone seems stressed and scattered. Sure I’d go back… but not my first choice if I’m in the area or craving that genre.

Top notch and very authentic gem of a sushi bar in Diamond Bar of all places! You must try the butterfish! In fact… everything! Everything is so fresh and probably the most amazing I’ve ever had. The only place I will ever eat Uni. So sweet and creamy. The oysters are rich and the Ikura is long soaked in the chef’s own concoction. Can’t go wrong with anything you order. Chef Hiro is such a happy go lucky guy and makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Be prepared to drop some big money, but it’s totally worth it.

Swank scene in the middle of downtown La Jolla...

Swank scene in the middle of downtown La Jolla with three levels of dining including a bar, grill and lounge downstairs, piano bar mid level and a sushi bar top floor. Went there for happy hour and chilled in the lounge. Love the service and can’t beat the happy hour prices. $3 beers, half off appetizers from Kobe beef sliders to tuna tartar and pizzas. Not sure what the regular dining experience is like. Maybe next time.

Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time! This place is a fantastic gem of a sandwich shop that you probably wouldn’t even notice unless you knew it was there. The sandwiches are HUGE and can be easily shared by two people. All the ingredients are super fresh and the meats are freshly cut upon ordering. The service is super friendly and your meal comes out lightning fast. woot!

An old San Diego favorite!! All-you-can-stuff-in-your-face sushi for only $25! The quality is pretty darn good for the price and there’s a wide enough variety of to keep you happy.
