Under new name and ownership

The new name is Yanni’s Taverna and I think the son took the place over and renovated it. I was there years ago and thought it was mediocre at best and that the interior was tired. The new owners are attentive, the renovation/interior design is well done Greek. You can dine al fresco in the summer but has some traffic noise. The service is awesome! They have beautiful whole fresh fish to view on a cart in the front. My fish was dry but they gave me a whole new one right away. The week before I had the vegetarian mousaka and I highly recommend it. If you order a carafe of retsina-be prepared to spend $30! That is the only real negative I have. It’s retsina for God’s sake-it was good but not a carafe for that much.We ordered 2 not knowing how much it was-crazy.

Dishes I tried:

vegetarian mousaka

1st time bad, 2nd time Fab!

The first time I ate dinner there I ate at the bar because it is impossible to get a reservation they are so busy. I ordered several different things and so did my sister. We hardly got halfway through a few of the things and the bartender took some of the food away! He said he thought we were finished because we moved the plates. Good grief was I angry. Anyway, I had the bisque and thought it had too much white pepper. I also had a crab caserole which was good not great. However, the next time I went with cousins and we had reservations-our meals were fabulous-just fabulous. We all raved. Best fish I’ve eaten. So maybe u can consider this a hit or miss? I’m just glad I gave it a second chance. It is a lot different from his restaurant Delmonico in New Orleans. I ate there when it first opened at that was great. The two places are not similar at all though.

Surprisingly good food and great water view!

The view of Saylor lake is great to see while dining either in the restaurant or on the deck. From the outside, the building looks like it is 2 steps above a biker bar. The interior is clean and freshly renovated but, as a designer, they didn’t hit the mark-at all. The sign outside looks like their kids made it in the garage. The food is very, very good-I was shocked. Go for the view and the food-oh the price too! Very reasonable and good service.

Dishes I tried:

Roasted pepper bisque with guoda cheese

The Belly dancer is a fun highlight!

Good food. Something different for sure. The outside of the building looks like it used to be a bank or something-kind of strange for a middle eastern restaurant. The interior looks middle eastern for sure though. I think the highlight is the belly dancer. She comes to the tables and prompts diners to try it with her. I remember once I embarrassed the hell out of my son when I pointed to him when the belly dancer came around to our table! Fun place.

Manager should be fired!

Scenic autumn drive down to Lumberville- wanted to eat at the Black Bass because it reopened after a long hiatus under new ownership and wanted a water view while dining. God forbid you arrive for lunch or anytime before 5:30; you must eat in the Bar which is dark and has no view of the Delaware River. Meanwhile there is no one in the lovely dining room with giant windows and water views-staff is standing around waiting to serve people but they can’t in that room-only the bar? This happened on a Monday no less! How are they suppose to make a new restaurant work in this economy with such an inflexible attitude? Don’t go there-they don’t deserve your business. Across the street there is a general store that is owned by the same folks-very cute with good food and desserts. I spoke to some other folks later on that day and they had the same problem and those people left because of the manager’s rude attitude.

SLLOOWW service, filthy bathrooms, interesting food

This place could be really great if they fixed a few things. It is a kind of bohemian place in a college town. The bathrooms are just plain gross, the service is very slow because the owner is like the chief, cook, and bottle washer. It isn’t well run/managed and the kitchen isn’t big enough to cook for all the patrons. The food is very good and creatively prepared which I love! The pancakes, however are never cooked through.

Really good food on the pricey side-nice atmosphere!

The food is really well prepared and the menu is creative which I love. The interior design is cool and edgy-no pun intended-ok it was intended. The service is fab. The prices-well-they are a bit high. In the last 10 years, the Lehigh Valley and Bethlehem in particular has had an influx of New Yorkers and Philadelphians and suddenly really high-end restaurants came too! Thankfully. This is one of those. Its competition across the street is also very good but it is loud and the interior design is lame. Between the two-go to Edge.

Beautiful Interior Design-Horrible service-Interesting food

The interior design here is absolutely fabulous. The food is very interesting and well prepared and I am a big time foodie. However, every time I go there, the service, sadly, gets worse. I usually take guests there that are from out of town. There is a psuedo-nightclub on the 3rd floor of the place that is great in the summertime because it is open air and a great atmosphere. However, the staff up there is rude and you’ll wait 25 minutes to get a cocktail server to even recognize your there! For the off the chart prices, the service should be right there too. The service on all 3 floors has been horrible! Their sister restaurant, Blue Grillhouse has great service and great food-skip Melt and go to Blue instead.

Fabulous!

I dined here at Greystone for lunch in June and the whole place is just wonderful! The food is so varied, well prepared, interesting and impressive. Loved the views of the vineyards and just walking around on the campus and in the old stone buildings. A must do for sure. Try their house Chard-really nice. High end food but not high-end prices. They also are subsidized by the wine magazine, Wine Spectator so the folks that work their are knowledgeable about pairings etc.
