This place is pretty much a diner. Except on the weekends, the wait is like an hour and the place only seats like 50 people.
Lunch/Dinner: The burgers are pretty good, but nothing to write home about. Usually very consistent and the bread is great. I would give the burgers 3/5 stars.
Breakfast/Brunch: This is the real reason to come here. If you like eggs benedict (like me) then you can get it traditional, blackrock, salmon, or MARYLAND CRAB CAKE benedict. That’s right. Blue crab and old bay seasoning IN SAN FRANCISCO. I get the traditional, and it’s the best I’ve had in san francisco so far. Not the best I’ve had though.

Great seafood, no-nonsense wine selection, smaller portions and low prices. You can gorge or go easy here. Seriously, my dinner was like $20 for wine + salmon entree. In SF, that is a steal.
The service is fast and the staff is friendly. I had some grilled salmon on a bed of cous cous with a glass of arneis, which, by the way, is my favorite white wine, and a majority of restaurants don’t seem to carry it. They get bonus points for that. I’d eat here again, but it’s not fancy at all. It’s a good place to go for a quick and tasty bite with your buddies.

This is our old standby neighborhood pizza joint. Great when you’re sober, and even better when you’re totally plastered. The orgasmica and the hawaiian slices delicious.
I’d say that their pizza is on par with pretty good pizza places on the east coast, where I’m from. It’s about as good as Village pizza in NYC (in west village).

My roommate and I were on our usual search for a good bowl of Pho, so we headed to the Tenderloin and found this place.
Clear, flavorful broth that got better within 5 minutes of having that rare steak cook. One of the better places in the bay area that we’ve been to. It is on par with some good Pho in San Jose. I’d eat here again. The only problem is that it’s in the Tenderloin where all the crackheads are. The sacrifices we make to satisfy our stomachs…

This place is a small restaurant in Russian hill. They offer delivery, which is super convenient.
The flavors in general here are very good. I would have given this place 3 stars, because the pad thai is almost perfection and the larb gai is perfect.
However, there is one dish that I use as my litmus test for any decent thai place: Green curry.
Theirs was soupy, almost flavorless, and definitely not spicy. I could hardly tell there was any lemongrass, lime leaves, galanga, tamarind.. it was very bland and probably the worst green curry I’d ever had.
So, if you just want pad thai, go wild. Otherwise, avoid.

All you can eat prime rib, done 6 different ways? Yorkshire pudding? HUGE baked potatoes? This place is absolutely delicious and a BARGAIN for what you get. And they only serve prime rib and a fish of the day. If you get the fish of the day, your server will make fun of you.
Just imagine: A huge cart with half a cow on it, and a guy slicing up your prime rib right in front of you! Their prime rib actually has more flavor than the prime rib done at lesser establishments. It’s probably because they inject salt water into the meat. OH WELL.
However, that bargain is at the expense of your health. But who cares about that, anyway? Just walk (cab) home.
Also, the bartender makes superb manhattans.
I am getting hungry just thinking about this place. Mmmm…

All I can say is that this place is super delicious. Everything here seems to be done right (and I mean french).
Open face sandwiches with cheese baked to a chewy/crispy texture, fluffy strawberry napoleons, 4" thick french toast, and coffee in a BOWL for dipping your pastries in. Everything here tastes really good and fresh, even though there’s probably a lot of fat and calories in everything. But who cares. If you come at a bad time, the line will be out the door. Yes, it’s mostly organic. This place will make it into my weekend brunch rotation.

None of the food here is fantastic, but it’s edible and is acceptable if you don’t feel like waiting at Polker’s. It’s across the street. It has a full bar, has better decor than Polkers, and is much bigger, but there’s a fundamental reason why there’s no wait here on a Saturday morning. Eggs benedict here is so-so. The fruit plate is good. The omelette was a bit overcooked. The service here is good, though. Very attentive servers.
