Worth the trip.

Great daily ice cream special flavors like lemon, and teaberry soft serve coupled with above average american cuisine make this a worthwhile destination. Popular with locals, Pretzel Hut also boasts a modest petting zoo, and a mini wild west town for the kids.
A monthly habit for our family during the summer.

Homestyle Goodness

I have no idea why this place has escaped my attention for so long, but it was clearly my mistake. Portions are enormous, and quality was exceptional. Service was adequate, but the waiting area was much too small for such a place. We waited about 15 minutes for a seat and stood the entire time.
Other than that- we’re going back! In fact, it has instantly made my “regulars” list!
Also worth knowing, this place is surrounded by some nice shops. All of which you can safely visit whilst waiting for a table via a pager system.

Wenger’s hamloaf, covered with a pineapple sauce. DELICIOUS and filling.

Carolina In PA

Ok, perhaps I exaggerated in the title. Smokey Bones is good solid BBQ, not SC but close enough for round these parts. I was super excited to learn that they offer both tomato & mustard based BBQ sauces; unusual for the area.
Everything was very tasty, though the portions could have been a bit larger. Atmosphere was great as was our service. When in that area, we’ll return.

Cheesesteak

This steak is a bit unusual for the area. I was skeptical when I got my order, but was proved wrong on my first bite. Had a good “steak” flavor, a bit light on sauce for my taste, and they use banana peppers as "hot peppers but really it was quite good.

Light on sauce, but a great steak flavor and a characteristic toasted roll.

Great pizza, good subs.

LOVE their pizza. Great cheese, and a slightly sweet pizza sauce. Quality top notch. Never poorly cooked. Locally owned and operated by an Italian family.
Sandwiches are good to average quality, I’d give extra points for some unusual choices of deli meats.

New Guy On the Block

Stopped for dinner, we tried the Bobbie and a cheese steak. Both were above average sandwiches. Store was clean and employees were exceptionally courteous. I will surely return for another meal!

Hard roll, good quality meat, american cheese, and large portion; not the absolute best I’ve ever had but a contender!

Another Cheesesteak

“Lancaster area’s original steak sandwich”, according to the menu. I certainly remember seeing the “Eat at Joe’s” billboards when I was a kid, and my grandmother’s favorite spaghetti was served by Joe, buut those days are gone.
Joe’s had radically stripped their menu to that of a sandwich shop. Maybe that’s OK. This place still screams 1950s, and in fact not much in the way of fixtures has changed.
In review, Joe’s is OK. Not great, not bad, just sorta average. Perhaps it’s worth a visit to live that 50s-60s working man vibe.

All the right parts, but the steak tasted a bit like hamburger to this reviewer. To soggy for my taste, but overall an average cheesesteak.

One of the best cheese steaks in town

This is a rather shabby, fishing themed establishment that is well known locally for their cheesesteaks. NOT Philly style, but great nonetheless. Keep in mind that if you eat there drink refill are on Gus!
I would have given him 5 stars, but must detract a star for quantity, I seem to always leave wanting more!

Good with potential

This establishment is actually located in Neffsville, PA.

I’ve eaten here a number of times, with varied results. They seem to have everything right; ingredients, breads, etc. But something isn’t quite right. It’s almost hard to describe, but when I get my plate I anxiously wring my hands (eager to dig in) but am left slightly disappointed.
Please don’t get me wrong, I will certainly return. They offer a diverse selection that is hard to compare locally, however I have yet to find a meal that wows me.
